Rosewood Bikes is supported by the generous contributions of organizations, businesses, and individuals. We are grateful for their support and we think you should support them, too!
We are always looking for additional support, and here are some of the ways you can participate!
Are you a trained bike mechanic, someone who does all the work on their own bike, or reasonably friendly with tools and willing to learn? GREAT! We need you to volunteer on Thursday afternoons 4-6pm at our bike shop, where you will help out people as they bring their bikes in for repair, keep the space organized, work on other bike projects, etc.
Are you not at all a bike mechanic and have no desire to learn, but still want to volunteer? GREAT! We need you, too. We can use writers, social media-savvy folks, organizational people, community activists, and probably lots more than we know. Send us your contact information and how you’d like to help out.
Bikes and Bike Parts
You know that old bike that’s sitting in your garage gathering dust since your bought your new flashy bike? Bring it to us during business hours (M-F 10am-6pm), and we’ll put it to good use, fix it up if necessary, and get it back out into the community.
How about those old or unused bike parts or tools? We can use those too, to fix up the bikes we receive (see paragraph above) and the bikes that come in for repair. If your bike parts have some life left in them, we can use them.
Cash donations (through The Rosewood Initiative, our fiscal sponsor) help us buy the tools and bike parts we need to make Rosewood Bikes successful.
As well, Rosewood Bikes intends to open its own shop in the Rosewood neighborhood, and that will take some real community support to pay for a space, build it out as a shop, and get everything set so that we can offer full-service bike repair to East Portland and Gresham.
Give a little or give a lot – it’s all tax deductible and helps Rosewood Bikes serve our community more effectively!
